“High degree of alert” announced for 14 days

Deputy Prime Minister M. Enkhbold, in his capacity of the head of the Government working group on the H1N1 infection, has announced a high degree of alert for 14 days from today.  So far 812 people have been confirmed with the infection and 5 have died. Meetings and conferences will not be held and all public places of entertainment and goods markets will remain closed. Supermarkets, restaurants and eateries will be open until 9 p.m. Schools and kindergartens will continue their recess. Buses will be sterilized and passengers’ body temperature will be checked.

Enlistment for soldiers has been put of by 14 days. Medical services will be provided in dormitories and student towns. All television channels will show educative programs on the infection. Donations will be collected to give food to the poor. The Government has allocated MNT1 billion to provide dietary supplements, fruits and curds to vulnerable groups, such as pregnant or nursing women, orphans, the very sick and the homeless. Hospitals will be open 24 hours and more beds have been arranged at several hospitals.
